All our teachers have extensive professional dance backgrounds.
They continue to grow in dance and constantly challenge their students to be more versatile with new and innovative dance moves.
Not only do they have to be proficient in all dance forms, they must be patient, kind and love children.
Jen Fontaine - Owner/Teacher
Jen Fontaine, a native of Massachusetts, has practiced and studied dance for over 30 years. She began at age seven and continued to perform throughout high school. She majored in dance, business, and elementary education at Bradford College in Massachusetts.
Ms. Jen is trained and skilled in tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, modern, lyrical, and creative movement. She has taught in various settings to include small town studios, YMCA’s, and after-school day care centers. Ms. Jen has traveled to New York to train and be inspired by Master Teachers such as Mia Michaels, Sheila Barker, Rennie Harris, Anthony LoCascio, Bob Rizzo, The Rockettes, and many more.
She has choreographed for the musical production, “Really Rosie” at the Lowell, MA YMCA, began classes for adults and children of all ages stationed at the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, coached the 2004-2005 Thomas Jefferson HS dance team in Virginia, participated in the 2006 Disney Magic Music Days at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, and taught for DANCE FUN in Katy, Texas for 3 years.
Ms. Jen hopes to continue giving children a sense of self-esteem, the knowledge of dance, and an understanding of the gifts that have been given to them.
Natalia Madari - Teacher
Ms. Natalia trained and danced with the New England Civic Ballet (now Northeast Dance Center) prior to attending Goucher College where she studied Ballet, Modern, and Choreography. Natalia has had the privilege of working at the Atelier de Paris Carolyn Carlson in Vincennes, France, José Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, MA, and The Dance Complex in Cambridge, MA. She has also worked recently with choreographers Jennifer Roberts, Joe Gonzalez, and Molly Wheat. She is a former member of the Jo-Mé Dance Theatre company based in Boston and now performs and choreographs on a freelance basis. Natalia has been teaching at Guiding Light Dance Academy since 2013.
Kyra Goulet - Teacher
Kyra Goulet grew up taking dance classes at Dolly’s Dance World and North Reading School of Ballet. Miss Kyra has studied tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and hip-hop. Throughout middle and high school, she volunteered at the Lowell YMCA teaching dance and has assisted in classes for dancers of all ages and special needs students. Miss Kyra graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 2011, where she was the dance captain for the school’s musicals.
Miss Kyra graduated from UMass Lowell in 2015 and continued her education at Merrimack College graduating in 2016 with a Masters in Education. While studying there, she was a part of the UMass Lowell Dance Team and competed at the NDA Championship in Daytona, FL. Miss Kyra began dancing at Guiding Light in 2012 and has been teaching since 2014. She is delighted to continue teaching at GLDA and looks forward to sharing her knowledge of dance and watching dancers grow.
Miss Kyra is currently a member of DanceWorks Boston- Boston’s largest performance-based dance organization for technically trained dancers. She is also currently a teacher in the Haverhill Public school system.
