Mini/Petite Ballet

Classes will continue to emphasize technique and proper body alignment, as well as flexibility, strength, grade, coordination, musicality, and performance quality. Class moves at a faster pace. Students will also study ballet terminology and history.

Advanced Ballet/Pointe

Participation in this class is based on 3-4 years of strong Ballet technique. Dancing on pointe, is the act of standing on the tips of the toes while performing steps from ballet. Also known as pointe work, it is performed using hard–toed and stiff-shanked pointe shoes. Dancing on pointe requires strength and skill and is a central part of a ballet dancer’s training and repertoire.

Jazz

Jazz combines many styles and techniques from ethnic and contemporary dance to ballet. Rhythm, upon which all dance forms depend, is particularly integral to jazz dance. The first half of class consists of exercises to stretch and tone muscles and develop support for proper stress-free alignment of the skeletal structure. Using jazz, soul, R&B, ethnic and pop music, jazz classes are a great work-out and a fun way to release tension while attaining a body awareness that can be applied to everyday activities.

Tap

Classes will emphasize rhythm, style, and sound. Students will study basic tap steps, combinations and rhythms with an emphasis on developing proper tap technique and producing clear tap sounds.

Jazz/Tap Combo

Combo class is geared toward kids aged 6-9 and 8-11 who are interested in both tap and jazz styles. The class is split into 30 minutes of tap and 30 minutes of jazz dance. Students get the best of both worlds, even if they only have the time or budget for just one class.

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a modern dance form which fuses modern dance, jazz, and ballet. Lyrical dance is often referred to as contemporary dance. It requires excellent technique to perform, as the moves are often difficult and precise. Moreover, the dancer must be well aware of facial expressions, essentially acting, to properly perform a lyrical dance piece.

Hip-Hop

This class is high-energy and fun for both boys and girls who want to learn some Old School style influenced by some of today’s hottest video choreographers . Classes include conditioning and warm-up, simplified break down of each dance step, skill combinations and choreography. All moves and music are age appropriate and level specific. Students love learning these upbeat dance steps while moving to their favorite songs.
